Mision

Mission Statement:

At the Indonesia Women Peace and Security Centre (IWPSC), our mission is to empower women in Indonesia to actively participate in peacebuilding, security, and conflict prevention efforts. We are committed to promoting gender equality, fostering inclusive dialogue, and advancing women’s rights as integral components of sustainable peace.

Our primary objectives are:

  1. Empowerment: We strive to strengthen the capacity of women across Indonesia by providing them with skills training, resources, and platforms for engagement. Through workshops, mentoring programs, and awareness campaigns, we aim to build their confidence and leadership abilities in advocating for peaceful societies.
  2. Advocacy: We work tirelessly to advocate for gender-responsive policies that ensure the meaningful participation of women at all levels of decision-making processes related to peacebuilding and security. By engaging with government bodies, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders, we seek to influence policy reforms that promote inclusivity.
  3. Education: Recognizing the importance of education in transforming societies towards a culture of peace and non-violence, we prioritize educational initiatives targeting both young girls and adult women. By providing access to quality education on conflict resolution strategies, human rights principles, gender equality concepts, and mediation techniques; we aim to foster a generation empowered with knowledge for positive change.
  4. Collaboration: To achieve sustainable impact in our endeavors towards creating a more peaceful society for all Indonesians irrespective of gender identity or background; collaboration is key. We actively network with local organizations working towards similar goals while also seeking partnerships on regional and international levels. Together with these partners from diverse sectors – academia institutions governmental agencies – we enhance collective efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace.
  5. Research : As an organization dedicated to evidence-based advocacy work; we conduct research studies focused on identifying gaps within existing frameworks concerning women’s role in peacebuilding activities at national level contexts. Through comprehensive documentation practices – interviews testimonials gathering data ,we amplify voices highlight achievements challenges faced by women peacebuilders. These findings enable us to provide valuable insights and recommendations for policy improvement.

At the Indonesia Women Peace and Security Centre, we envision a future where women’s contributions are recognized, valued, and integral in building peaceful communities. Through our mission, we strive to create an inclusive society that upholds the principles of gender equality and respects the rights of all individuals.
